Vimal has over 25 years of experience in various spheres of finance like cost management, financial & strategic planning, fund raising, merger & acquisitions, controls and compliance etc.
Prior to Birlasoft, he has worked with Aricent (formerly Hughes Software Systems, a public listed company), where he worked for over 11 years as CFO and Director on the Board. Before that he worked with Crompton Greaves for over six years as DGM-Finance.
Vimal's major achievements at Aricent include leading the first successful book built public issue in India and implementation of ERP applications (SAP, Oracle) and other packages like Hyperion. Under his stewardship, the company was awarded for strong controls and systems. At Aricent, he also received the 'Best Mentor' and 'Most Open Personality' awards based on open voting.
Vimal has many personal achievements to his credit. He held the post of Vice- Chairman of CFO World, an elite forum of CFOs. He has also held membership of various committees of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. He was amongst the top four finalists for the 'CFO of the Year' award in MNC category, conducted by IMA.
He holds a bachelor's degree in commerce as well as an MBA, and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.
