Arup Gupta has been appointed the Chief Executive Officer of Birlasoft (India) Ltd, the IT services arm of the C K Birla Group. He will take over his new assignment on August 1, 2009.
A seasoned IT professional, Mr. Gupta brings with him over 30 years of experience. He has most recently been the President & Executive Director of Polaris and was responsible for all operations, delivery and sales. Prior to Polaris, Mr. Gupta had been with TCS since 1979 and was President, North America, in his last assignment there. He was credited with a five-fold growth in a five-year time span in the US.
