Apart from varied criterion such as entrepreneurial spirit, financial performance, strategic direction, innovation and personal influence and integrity, the independent jury selected the finalists based on the impact the nominee was delivering in terms of a significant contribution to India.

A Chartered Accountant by profession, Kishor Patil has led KPIT Cummins to a leadership position in the industry. Over the last decade the company has grown from a base of $10-million revenue to $309 million in FY12. The Company has now embarked to reach the target of $1 billion revenue by 2017, a target Kishor plans to achieve faster than the initial $500 million revenue.
Hailing from a small town near Pune, Kishor started his career as a Chartered accountant in 1983. It was in 1990 that KPIT Infosystems was formed and by 1996 it entered the international market starting its first overseas operations in UK, followed by its first public issue. This made the company one of the fastest entrants into the stock exchanges and the issue was oversubscribed 42 times. Subsequently, to accelerate growth and expansion, Kishor spearheaded KPIT's inorganic growth strategy ensuring strategic partnerships with the merged companies and phenomenal growth within these entities.
