Amita Birla is the Co-Chairman of the $3 billion CK Birla Group, and Chairman of Birlasoft Limited, a leading global technology organisation.

Under her leadership, the CK Birla Group has invested in several initiatives to grow at the forefront of a rapidly evolving world by leveraging technology, talent and digital transformation. She is instrumental in driving the successful execution of transformative projects across the Group, both in India and in global markets.

As the Chairman and Founder of Birlasoft, she brings her personal brand of people skills and has led the long term strategy development and implementation of the company from its beginning. Birlasoft is today a 12,500+ professional strong, multi shore business application global IT services provider with a presence in the United States, Europe, Asia Pacific and India. It operates development centres in the United States, China, Poland and India with Fortune 100 enterprises across manufacturing, banking & financial services, insurance, media and healthcare industries as clients.

Additionally, she is passionate about bringing world-class clinical excellence and patient care to India, and actively engages with the Group’s healthcare business. Her commitment includes overall business excellence, and specifically driving enhanced healthcare facilities and experiences.

Under Amita’s leadership, diversity and critical roles in the Group companies have had a lot of attention: there is a strong charter to leverage best talent by prioritising and putting in place equitable and inclusive structures. This principle plays a key role that overlays the existing talent development programmes that Amita leads across the Group.

Amita and her husband CK are both committed philanthropists, who support social development, healthcare delivery and the advancement of science, technology, education, art and culture through their family foundations which run notable schools, a university, galleries, science museums and planetaria across India.
