Whether it is to continue business operations or maintain access to essential needs, the digital economy will play a crucial role in all aspects of our lives. Digital transformation across sectors is in full force with increased focus on automation; AI-enabled technology; cloud adoption and IoT implementation across segments.
There is an opportunity for every industry and sector to re-evaluate their digital transformation journey and take necessary steps, investments to accelerate the pace of adopting digital technologies. Cloud computing is being seen by many as the next wave of digital technology for individuals, companies and governments. Due to the WFH model, we have seen a domino effect on companies accelerating their facilities for seamless remote-work.
With the need to access critical applications and scalability of infrastructure being a burning question, cloud computing emerges as an 'essential' technology in the current scenario.

Cloud providers are prepared to deliver services in tandem with uninterrupted customer experience. It is safe to say that cloud adoption and remote working are the new normal for the future.
Bursting a few myths:
Cloud computing is no longer about servers and storage, it is a model for enabling ubiquitous, convenient, on-demand network access to a shared pool of configurable computing resources. Emerging trends are transforming it as a business technology must-have.

It is critical to note that consumers of cloud across Enterprises and the Digital Natives continue to demand affordability, which in turn is leading to innovations in the technology supporting cloud computing. According to a report by NASSCOM, Cloud spend in India is estimated to grow at 30% p.a. to reach USD 7.1 – 7.2 Bn. by 2022.
Cloud Computing – What Lies Ahead
Even with the pandemic looming, India's cloud computing market is poised for growth and is increasingly being embraced across businesses and consumers. The next wave of computing is already being adopted across businesses, industries and end consumers. India continues to remain a market that is thriving under the dual-opportunity of serving domestic and international demands and enjoys higher consumption of data with the advent of high-speed mobile connectivity.
The future holds much promise for cloud tech adoption, which will in-turn allow new business models to develop and prosper, in the age of “cloud computing” that lies ahead.
