The Customer is a US based leading global Oil and Natural Gas services company with presence across 75+ countries.
The Network landscape comprised of Cisco switches and routers, Cisco Meraki SD WAN, Cisco ISE and Palo Alto firewalls.
Business Challenges
The customer had legacy Network architecture with ageing hardware and multiple capacity bottlenecks. There was lack of Network device hardening procedures, lack of config standardization and inconsistent Network Inventory maintenance procedures. The enterprise infrastructure was not Cloud ready. There was a need for high CAPEX investment to maintain and support the ageing infrastructure.
Birlasoft Solution
Birlasoft made the infrastructure Cloud ready through multiple Network modernization initiatives such as Network firmware upgrades, simplification of Network topology by consolidation, strategic utilization of spare devices etc. Birlasoft executed multiple Lift and Shift projects to Cloud which involved deployment of Hybrid Network Architecture using On-prem & cloud solutions. Selective hardware refresh was done at critical locations including data centers and Network hardening procedures were implemented.
Customer later moved into a complete Network as a service model with Birlasoft.
Value Delivered
- The above Network transformation initiatives increased the service availability from 99.0% to 99.6% and reduced operating expenditure of the customer by approx. 15%.
- Security compliance increased from 80% to 98%.
