KPIT features in the prestigious 'Thomson Reuters Top 50 Indian Innovators' list for 2015
Pune, 18 May, 2016:KPIT Technologies (BSE: 532400; NSE: KPIT), a global technology company specializing in IT consulting and product engineering, has been featured in the 'Thomson Reuters Top 50 Indian Innovators' list for the year 2015. KPIT received this recognition for its commitment to preserve and promote a culture of innovation in India. Thomson Reuters compiled the list of top 50 Indian innovators after researching and analyzing companies on select patent data based criteria.
This recognition was conferred upon the most innovative organizations headquartered in India for their spirit of innovation as it forms a part of Indian patent portfolio. The world’s most trusted and authoritative value-added patent database, Derwent World Patents Index was used while conducting this analysis. In order to qualify for being featured in this list, companies had to meet the basic criteria of publishing at least 25 patents during the period 2010-2014.

To foster the spirit of innovation at every level in KPIT, the company has implemented several programs to stimulate discussions and actions about driving and co-creating innovative solutions. The level of innovation of candidate companies were assessed using the following four metrics:
  • Volume of patents: Volume of new inventions published in India during the analysis period
  • Grant success rate: Ratio of granted patents to all new inventions published during the analysis period
  • Extent of globalization: Number of new invention patents that have foreign (non-India patents) in their patent families
  • Influence of innovation: How often inventions are subsequently cited by other companies, excluding self-citations, leverages data from Derwent Patents Citation Index™ database
