Business Challenges
The customer was looking to streamline their multi-cloud approach by transitioning to a single cloud platform (Azure). Managing the AWS infrastructure demanded significant resources, hindering agility and leading to operational overhead. There were also challenges in integrating with the intended Azure services and it resulted in enhanced costs, and this necessitated consolidation.
Birlasoft Solution
Birlasoft proposed migration from AWS EKS to Azure AKS, leveraging its benefits and addressing the customer's challenges. We conducted a thorough assessment to understand the infrastructure required for the application, resource utilization, and dependencies. This detailed planning ensured a smooth migration.
Leveraged Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) to automate infrastructure provisioning in Azure. Designed and developed IaC templates for Azure Landing setup, resources provisioning and AKS build. This approach ensured consistency, reduced manual errors, and will facilitate future infrastructure changes.
The applications were migrated to Azure AKS using a well-defined strategy, minimizing downtime and impact on end-users. We performed infrastructure testing to validate functionality, performance, and security in the new environment and integrated the AKS platform with Azure services, ensuring compatibility and data consistency.
